That sounds nice and it's never going to happen so it's an excellent thing to complain about. I would think that the real reason that the union is against a cap is that many teams make vastly different amounts of money and any Cap that is going to work for the weaker teams means that the wealthier teams will pocket several million that the players helped generate.

That's why I always say no to a hard cap but to tax the he## out of the high spending teams and buy them off with a max. salary.
