Myself, maybe it is due the debacle that has been this organization for the last decade, I more risk-averse when it comes to trading prospects for more unproven prospects. Like you said, maybe in another few years I will have the same trust in the Rangers brass that I have in Brian Cashman. It took a while for me to trust the 'Yanks front office, maybe this is similar.

Thank you. I also understand the reluctance to trust this orgainzation at this point. I've said that Montoya has more value than just about any player the Rangers could take in this draft. Yes, there's a risk such a deal - that is, Montoya for a top six pick - could blow up in the Rangers' face. In fact, if the rangers' scouting staff says they believe Montoya will be better than any player available where they might pick in the top six, I realize there's a good chance the Rangers are overpaying for that pick. But, again, if the scouting is saying that Toews/Staal/Mueller could also be special, then I'm willing to trust
THIS scouting staff, not the one who drafted Brendl/Lundmark/Malhotra. This is a different staff than that one, and should not be held accountable for that regime's mistakes.
