That IS a really interesting thought. What if that happened in the last 10 seconds of OT? That penalty doesn't even hurt; you're better off pulling it!

But as far as the current situation, it will be what it is: a crucial missed call. I doubt there's discipline. It would be a pretty weird precedent.
