Lundqvist is great for sure and deserves to be mentioned anytime you're talking about the best of the best. But I feel even with that he is somehow overhyped at times. There are probably 5-6 goalies in the league in Rinne's situation where playing in NYC would boost them to godlike status simply out of press coverage.

That's all true I think. A lot of it has to do with market size and media hype. I don't think Weber will win the Norris either. Karlsson will probably win it this year just from sheer number of points, even though Weber is the better all-around player and it's really not that close in my opinion. I think the Preds in general will always have trouble with these popularity contests like the NHL awards.
That said, I think Quick deserves the Vezina this year. I'd put Pekka somewhere at 3-5 this year. His SV% isn't quite what it was last year (still #7 in the league, very solid), but he was an absolute workhorse this year a lot was asked of him and he still played at an elite level. Led the league in Games Played, Wins, Shots Against, Saves, Goalie Points. He was our MVP for sure.
