To further my post from the season review thread here are some moves I think would benefit the team and compliment the team we already have.

($$ in 2012-$$ in 2013-$$ in ect)

Buyout:
Antti Miettinen (500K-500K)
http://capgeek.com/buyout_calculator...06&buyout_d=15

Resign:
Slater 4.2M/3 (1.6M-1.5M-1.1M)
Glass 2.85M/3 (1.050M-900K-900K)
Mason 2.8M/2 (1.6M-1.2M)
Kane 4.0M/1 (4.0M)
Fehr 1.1M/1 (1.1M)
Pavelec 13.2M/4 (2.8M-2.9M-3.5M-4M)
Mach9 850K/1 (850K)

Trade:

To NYI
Ron Hainsey

To WPG
2012 2nd
2013 2nd

Why: Hainsey is the perfect fit for the Islanders high cap hit, low salary, left handed all fits what they need. The Jets save 3M and can continue to add to the depleted farm system with the 34th pick and another likely high 2nd rounder.

TO CGY
2013 5th

TO WPG
Blake Comeau-RFA-sign 2.9M/2 (1.6M-1.3M)

Why: Has not worked out in Calgary played on the 4th line most of the time unlikely the Flames give him a QO may as well get a pick for him. Jets get a high upside winger with decent size who can PK and has a track record of being able to play tough minutes, also a RH shot.

To TOR
Nik Antropov
2013 3rd WPG
2013 3rd CHI

To WPG
Tim Connolly (4.00M)
Matthew Lombardi (3.5M)
Korbinian Holzer-RFA-sign 1.9M/2 (.9M-1.0M)

Why: Burkie is in a bind and this move helps him clean up his own mess, unlike with Finger these are both contracts ether signed or acquired by Burke, I see no way he can berry them in the minors especially with a new ownership group. While he might be able to move Connolly on his own Lombardi has no value so by taking him Jets get a discount on Connolly. Connolly is another guy that can eat the tough minutes he is another RH shot and is a UFA after this year.

UFA signs:
Jason Garrison 20.5M/5 (3.5M-4M-4M-4.5M-4.5M)

Why: Garrison has for 2 years now played some of the toughest competition in the NHL and done quite well with it, FLA seems willing to let him go as well. His offense is not going to stick at 15+ goals but 4.1M for a true shutdown D with size is still a solid deal he finalizes the top 4 and 2nd PP unit.

Call ups:
Cormier (855K)

Total $$ on new/resign players
27.885M
Total $$ on returning players
27.35M
Total $$ on NHL 23 man roster
55.235

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $55,055,459; BONUSES: $912,500
CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $9,244,542

Tons of salary room to give Toby, Wheeler, Little, Burmi, and Kane raises as well as lots of financial flexibility for the 2012/13 UFA class. 8.25M in cap space opening after the 2012/13 season as well with Connolly and Lombardi off the books, may even be able to move Lombardi out during the season for a pick. Leaves the Jets with 1st, 4 2nds no 3rds in 2013 draft.

Still need to add a 1st line C and a 2nd line RW but this group looks a lot stronger to me than this years.
