Agree totally... see Boston Bruins of this past summer. They had no roster and a lot of cap room coming into the free agency period. They slapped together a team that took far to long to develop any chemistry. Even our own Isles experienced the same with their extreme roster change.

Having cap space is very important but so is having some continuity. Even for a mediocre team like the Isles. A player like Bates is a good example for younger players to learn from.
