I'll cut off my left nut before Bobby Clarke makes this trade.

1. Cap space is eaten for a guy who walked out on the team for not giving him serious cash.

2. Trading youth for vets doesn't look like Clarke's strategy this year; every move he has made indicates that he wants this team to get younger and more talented. He's moved older players for picks/promise and that's why we have more picks in the first few rounds than any other team in the league. He's keeping this team as a playoff contender while planning ahead: solid strategy.

3. Last time I checked the Penguins are a divisional rival, why help them at all? Umberger's been working his *** of to get where he is and is only in his early twenties. He's getting paid next to nothing right now, five or ten years down the line it'll probably be the same. He'll be 60 pts a year for 1.4 million which gives us some breathing room in coming years when Carter and Pitkanen will be hitting their prime.
