Fair enough, you should have specified lacrosse moves/michigans. Regardless, I really think it's just a coincidence, I know personally that I can pull lacrosse moves equally well with white or black tape, the only thing that's really important for lacrosse moves is to have a well-waxed blade that's free of snow/ice, but this doesn't depend on the color of your tape. If any of these guys are using friction tape (aka "Gordie Howe tape"), that's a different story, that always seems to come in black, but standard black or white tape, I really don't see the difference in stickiness that you're talking about, at least not as a general rule across all brands.
