was easily the worst reffed period i have ever seen. penalty after penalty to Vancouver, including two 5 on 3's in the first period. once Vancouver played an entire period in the box, the two decided it was even up time, and proceeded to take Chicago to the box time after time. this evening up of the powerplays has got to go. as well most of the calls were absolute jokes.
not only were they making brutal calls, but McGeough also dropped the puck during a TV timeout which resulted in a goal not being televised.
for those saying that a ref doesn't try and dictate the flow of the game must have something wrong with them. a ref is always trying to control the flow of a game. e.g. what happens when there's a lopsided game and the goons come out? penalties. the refs will try and dish out the penalties so the game doesn't get chippy. what happens in scrums in close games when 1 team deserves more penalties than the other because of it? they even them out and make them coincidental. why is it that they blow the whistle like there's no tomorow in the 1st couple of periods but put it away in the 3rd?
i got the hint that this tandem was competing. after McGeough would make a call, Meier would make one shortly after.
