The problem is that there is neither consistency or a standard for which a player could expect to know what punishment will follow what hit. Not to mention the absurd bias for star players vs role players. It makes the league look like a joke to the rest of the world.
It only matters if it led to supplimental discipline by the league. If it hasn't led to suspensions then its irrelevant to the Torres situation.
