Beleive it or not, it's your wrist muscles. You are using muscles you haven't used in along time, and they need to adapt to physicality you are putting them through in hockey.

I remember when I first started playing after a 10 year break I ended up buying a wrist supporter to support my hand and wrist thinking it was the same thing. But after about a month all the pain is gone and my muscles are use to the wrist shot, slap shot, stick handlings etc motions.

Just get use to it, I know alot of us have been through the same thing.
