As for Esche's performance, it is no surprise to see Phoenix fan's question his ability because he absolutely sucked here. I don't believe you can solely chalk up a goalies ability based on the team in front of him as sometimes a weak team will enable the goalie to show just how good he is (Denis in Columbus?) & sometimes a strong team (Detroit) may show a goalies (Joseph?) weaknesses.

In any event, as an article which was linked to on one of these boards alluded to earlier, it may have been just a matter of mental preparation & game preparation as well. The article mentioned that Philly has provided him with a Sports Psychologist to assist with his mental preparation.

In Phoenix it was well documented that he NEVER had any sort of of gameday routine which is very unusual amongst goalies (or any position for that matter).

Who know, goalies are nutbags anyways.
