uh no. the team that gillis inherited was crappy compared to the current team, and nonis had a running start going into his 3 year tenure so should have been able to turn the roster over however necessary to get the team to compete. missing playoffs in his 3rd year is a pretty big indictment.
plus, what's toronto done since he and burke got there? as the right hand man you'd expect him to have some impact there as well if he's so much better than gillis.
