Actually, they last longer than any other wood stick I've ever tried, with the exception of the old Koho's (think Lafleur era). And the curve is NOT illegal, it is exactly 1/2 inch mid-toe curve. I shoot a LOT harder with a new Coffey Sher-Wood than I can with a Vapor XXX, I can tell you that! Plus, it's only about $25 US, so I can go through 7.5 of them to match what I would spend on the one-piece (which have WEAK curves, anyway).
I'll stay with the tried-and-true wood stick, or at least a shaft/wood blade combo with the Sher-Wood Coffey pattern.
