I kind of feel that way but on the flipside I appreciate that the NHL and MLB, unlike the NFL and particularly the NBA, make individual awards just that INDIVIDUAL. They don't castigate guys endlessly for being on average or below average teams.

Most of these awards are like that, you're picking three finalists out of about five guys that could easily be nominated. The three finalists plus Giroux and Quick are all deserving. I noticed the voters did not appreciate the Flyers this year, no love for Lavi (understandable) but also none for Holmgren, which I thought was odd.

Same kind of thing with the Norris or the Vezina. They probably got the picks right but you've got Pietrangelo and Mike Smith and other guys that could easily be in the discussion, too.
