I grew up in South OC, the Chargers were my team, I had his jersey. This is truly shocking.

You are right about the head injury aspect. All these deaths, especially the suicides are very troubling.

The NFL has come a long way, but still has a long way to go. The NHL also has a long way to go, the sport still allows fighting which is a huge joke with everything that has happened with guys like Rypien and Boogard.

I've said this before, and I hate to say it, but I don't know if any real changes will come until someone is killed or severely injured on either the ice or gridiron.

And the leagues can't just ban guys like Torres and James Harrison because the unions won't allow it.

I shudder to think what some of our favorites football and hockey players will be like 30-40 years from now, if they even make it that far.
