It's weird. Why would ANYONE, especially an NYR fan, have an issue with that? Again, further proof of the "born yesterday, everyday" mentality: If it didn't occur in the last game, the last week, it's not worth acknowledging, not worth the time. How enlightened.

Well Trots--I certainly don't advocate booing him and I don't really want someone to try and run him through the boards either. And I'm all for retiring his jersey when he calls it a career. However--call it paranoia if you like--but this game needs to be won (if at all possible ) by the blueshirts and having a long drawn out ceremony for a player dressed in another teams uniform (especially at this point in the season) is inappropriate at this time. We might seem like a lock but I'll feel better when it's official. No need to screw around. No need to give the Bruins an emotional boost.
