The one thing Trotz has best proven over the last 12+ seasons is that his system can't win enough in the playoffs: It doesn't matter what individuals or how many players of a given type he has. What many posters fail to realize is that even someone like Parise (currently a top wish-list player for many posters) is maybe an 18 goal scorer in the Barry Trotz system. Personnel do not matter in the Trotz system as much a player type. Further compounding the issue, the playoffs are too long to play only defense while depending mostly on luck and bounces to score enough to win 16 post season games.

Ultimately, Trotz is good at taking years to develop a team from the basement up - bringing them to 'pretty good'. Today he's perfect for Columbus. Today he's a millstone around Nashville's neck.
