To add to the video that hockeymass posted, force yourself to learn these:



If you can get those down, the forward to backward transition becomes a whole lot easier! For extra difficulty, do them on the circle facing outwards and use the outside edges. Bend your knees! The hip turnout isn't so much of an issue if you're only on one foot at time, so if you can work on your one-foot balance it will make a huge difference.
