Signifiant picks since 2001 (new scouting staff in Habs org.):

Preds 2001: Hamhuis 12th overall, Shiskanov 33th overall (traded to St-Louis), Tootoo 98th overall

Habs 2001: Komisarek 7th overall, Perezhogin 25th overall, Plekanec 71th overall

Preds 2002: Upshall 6th overall

Habs 2002: Higgins 14th overall

Preds 2003: Suter 7th overall, Shea Webber 49th overall (great pick)

Habs 2003: Kostitsyn 10th overall, Lapierre 61th overall, OByrn 79 th overall

Preds 2004: Radulov 15th pick (great pick)

Habs 2004: Chipchura 18th overall, Yemelin 84 overall, Grabovski 150th overall

Preds 2005: Ryan Parent 18 th overall

Habs 2005: Price 5th overall, Latendresse 45th overall

The edge to MTL to me...We have nothing to envy to anyone since 2001.

Sure the Preds drafted very well in the past few years, they stole Steve Sullivan from the Hawks (poor Hawks ), signed Paul Kariya and some other nice moves but I hardly believe this team can be considered a contender when a guy named Yannick Perreault plays on your top lines... They have a pretty solid team outside the center position, where they have a serious weakness.. They are great in the net, great on defense, pretty solid on the wings.
