The importance of a faceoffs/having a faceoff specialist

Take a look at the best faceoff guys in these playoffs...

Toews. Out
Konopka. Out
Gaustad. Out
Malhotra. Out
Nichol. Out
Briere. Out
Thornton. Out
Goc. Out
Bergeron. Out

Only after all those guys do you get to the remaining playoff teams...

I think faceoffs are important. our OT goal showed that. I still stand by my assertion that i wouldn't give up a first rounder for a faceoff specialist like Gaustad, and that the importance of faceoffs are very overstated in general. Winning key faceoffs are huge. Bearing down and getting it done is important...but by and large, we tend to blow the importance of faceoffs outta proportion.

Id rather have a 3rd/4th line center who can shut down another teams best player, or smash their faces in, or kill penalties at an elite level WAY Before i give a rats ass about how they do in the faceoff circle.

Brad Richards is under 50% for the playoffs...it jsut matters about winning that 1 draw. everything else is fluff.
