We can't see the forest for the trees?! We can say the same for you because you only take the most pessimist outcome without considering that this team has also shown it can play some amazing hockey. There are many more variables to consider than those apparent in recent games. And do you even realise that the Habs don't exist in a vacuum? The other teams involved in the race also have serious flaws in their play. Granted this team didn't seize its opportunities when it could but it doesn't mean they're done for either.
You know what buddy, if the Habs don't make the playoffs we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
We're all very conscious of the possibilities of failure. But in the meantime, the Habs are still in the thick of the race and if anything this season should have thought you is that a team's fortunes can change overnight in the NHL.
Please don't come back and rub our noses in it if you're right. It won't prove anything - you basically have a 50:50 chance at this moment.
Great post and I agree with everything you've said. The funny thing is that once we win on Thursday this place will have a totally different attitude.
