But over time, the team clearly wasn't improving. The scariest part were the individual declines I was seeing. Skill guys like Higgins got to the point where they couldn't make a 10-foot pass. In fact, the team's passing game was embarrassingly bad by the end of Carbo's tenure. It was fairly clear that practices weren't balanced affairs under that regime. The skill development and offensive drills had to be lacking.

I shudder at the thought of going back to that abyss where the team couldn't complete two passes in a row. It was equal parts frustrating and sickening.

Of all the former coaches tapped to return, he scares me the most.
