The series win is a hollow farce, but would rather they take care of business than not. After losing both Rose and Noah, to lose the series (if not blowing a 3-1 lead in the process) would have been crushing for a team trying to establish an identity. Even having beaten a diminished opponent, they still won a playoff series, and that's still an accomplishment for a group that's never done it before.
It's definitely good for the new owners and the franchise going forward. Hopefully it can build a little momentum and get Philly going as a basketball town once again. If they can start selling tickets and getting attention players might want to actually come here.
Short term though yeah it was a pretty ugly series and Boston is much better than a Noah and Rose less Bulls. Even if by some miracle they squeek by the Celtics it would just be for the privelage of getting smashed by the Heat.
