Kimmo is one of my favorite Flyers, but it is evident to me that his body is wearing down. He's played a ton of hard minutes in an awful lot of games over the past several years. I think he'll play out this contract and retire. I know Timonen was injured during the playoffs this year, but it was still clear to me that Braydon Coburn is now our best defenseman (for better or for worse). Timonen is a small man who plays tough NHL minutes. He will always be dealing with injuries during the playoffs, so I don't think we should be waiting for the year when he's perfectly healthy come playoff time unless his minutes are lowered dramatically. I hope that with the addition of Grossmann, we can rely on the Coburn-Grossmann pairing for the tough match-ups, allowing us to keep Kimmo fresher next year.
