I agree with all the posters here... knee bend.
One thing that sometimes helps to develop better knee bend:
Take a puck, skate around and deke imaginary players with the bottom hand holding your stick a few inches lower than usual. Keep your legs wide and advance using C-cuts. Don't forget to keep your head up.
