If Henry or the Mexican national captain were that great, they'd be playing for Liverpool or Barcelona or AC Milan or somewhere else other than New Jersey.
It's just the way it is.
It's not like the KHL where Radulov gets paid a ridiculous amount of stay out of the NHL. MLS is inferior talent and cheaper contracts. There's really not much of a reason to play here unless you can't handle Europe, with few exceptions like Landon Donovan who are focused on popularizing the sport here.
I mean, if the MLS got Henry or Beckham 10 years ago, it probably would have been an eye opener. But instead, those guys basically come here to retire.
