Scott Gordon could be a possibility as a replacement. The former Islanders head coach. He is currently an assistant coach with Toronto. Ron Wilson hired him. Torts was on the staff with Wilson and Gordon at the 2010 Olympics. Randy Carlyle will look to bring in his guys. Scott Arniel is rumored to be joining the Leafs as an assistant under Carlyle. Gordon is not a Carlyle guy. Also,Jeff Gorton worked with Gordon in Boston. Gordon was the B's AHL coach when Gorton was AGM there. Gordon was the head coach of the US WC team last spring. Derek Stepan,Ryan McDonagh and Chris Kreider played on that team.

Hopefully its someone with more of a creative mindset that Sullivan.

Torts and Sulli won't stiffen a creative player. But opposed to a team like Boston and NJD for examlpe, they set the bar extremely low in terms of whats demanded from the players in terms of creativity. For those teams, the bar for D's and lower line forwards are still to be able to execute a few very simple set plays.
