However, it is beyond frustrating that Girardi and some other defensemen on this team have some sort of aversion to trying to clear the crease. This is where Sauer was missed. If he's not back next year because of the concussion, the Rangers have to find some sort of replacement for him.
thanks! Girardi has been great for this team at times, no one is denying that. He's made horrible decisions in his own zone throughout the playoffs as well.
I wrote this thread in anger, and should have retitled: "Cost us the Game". The Ranger forwards are largely responsible for that, but nevertheless Girardi's decision right there was simply unthinkable for an NHL-level hockey player. It was so devoid basic hockey sense it's unfathomable! It was as if the MSG janitor was on the ice during that play.
