We can't really move up in the draft by packing our 1st in a deal. Columbus stills has the option on that pick and even though they are likely to wait until next year to exercise their option, they have all the way up until two picks before the Kings selection to make that decision and I see no reason why they wouldn't wait until then before deciding. As such, we have to hold onto our 1st this year until Columbus makes their decision, likely at pick 28. So, outside of trading up one or two spots, the Kings wouldn't be able to package their first this year in a deal to move up in the draft order.

Columbus however could and they may elect to take the pick and package it in a deal to move up and try to get two picks high in the draft. Heck, maybe they offer the 2nd overall and our pick for the 1st overall?
