Both are similar 2-way forwards, except...

-Tikkanen is one of the all time hated pests, Lehtinen had no agitator side whatsoever. With his constant yapping and rat antics Tikkanen was one of the most entertaining players to watch, while Lehtinen is your typical robot player.

-Tikkanen was more physical. Lehtinen was physical too in a way that he was strong on corners, but Tik dished out some nice hits. During one of his first NHL stints Tikkanen run over Dave Brown...

-Tikkanen could sometimes play also as a centre or PP-point man, Lehtinen was all winger. Tikkanen was a better playmaker.

Lehtinen had only two things over Tikkanen: better wrist shot(Tik had a better slapper, though) and more mature/responsible character(did not take stupid penalties like Tik and read the defensive game even better than Tik).

Offensively edge to Tikkanen, defensively edge to Lehtinen. In all it's Tikkanen pretty easily, since he brought some elements (agitation and hard hitting dirtiness) to the game which was totally lacking from Lehtinen's repertoire.
