My objections to the proposed trade really have nothing to do with underrating Del Zotto or Gaborik. They're great players.
It comes down to it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever
for the Jets to gut the two (or three, if we're looking at the OP) key building blocks of our young core -- including Bogosian, who is widely agreed in Jets fans to be the most untouchable Jet and a very likely franchise D -- for these two players. It wouldn't really make our team stronger in the way we need to be stronger.
That's what we're saying: Kane and Bogosian have more value to the Jets, with where we are in our development and where we think we're headed, than Del Zotto and Gaborik would.
