Would you be wary to spend a high first rounder on a Russian?

The CBJ have not exactly had great success with high first round picks of Russian descent and both have fled to Russia. The CBJ could be looking at the possibility of Grigorenko or Yakupov and perhaps Vasilevsky at the end of the first round/beginning of the second round. Even Galchenyuk could be hurt by the process.

Considering Zherdev and Filatov, the Preds on again/off again relationship with Radulov, there is talk Semin might head back to Russia now, the money the KHL is throwing at kids, etc, would you hesitate to draft one of the above Russians so high?

I just finished reading the THN article: "It's become increasingly difficult for Russian teenagers to convince NHL teams...consider that 47 Russians were selected in the 1992 draft alone, yet only 39 have been taken in the past five years combined."
