Besides signing Gorges to a Cap- friendly long-term contract the Habs signed Plekanec likewise.For players that are UFA's looking to sign with a team that's committed to winning like Detroit. Where players like Datsyuk,Zetterberg etc. have signed the same Cap-friendly contracts,they will look to Montreal now realizing the direction our team is headed.Trading a player that has made such a commitment could be a disaster for Montreal long term.
