The Sens won't trade Spezza unless the offer is too good to pass up. They shouldn't trade him for anything short of an upgrade and a half at other positions. And because it's Toronto, he won't be traded there period. It just won't happen and shouldn't. Ottawa has no reason to do so. Trading Spezza in almost any scenario sets them back and makes them a worse team, now and in the future. They are arguably in the middle of the rebuild still but have remained competitive. The team has a chance to win now, as it showed by making the playoffs this year when most had them ruled out before the season even began.
Amen brother. Its very refreshing to see a non-Sens fan that understands this. Heck, there are a lot of Sens fans that need to read, memorize, learn, live, and breathe this post.
