I think that the thing that you overlook is who the teams still have. Any team that can be beset by injuries and still throw out a Sakic-Hejduk-Tanguay line isn't that bad.

Compare that to the Kings who have lost their 3 best offensive players with having a major fall-off with the 4-6 guys. Add in their blueline is beset with injuries as well, while the Av's blueline is in relatively great shape.

I think the other thing to consider is who has been lost for the Av's. Losing guys like Hahl, Worrell & Svatos doesn't hurts as much as those guys weren't counted on to be major contributors.
