Were the New England Patriots more talented than the Rams? Of course not, but they were the better team. Were the New Jersey Devils more talented than any of the top 4 squads in the west last season? Again I'd argue no, but they were the best team.

Atlanta is a very good _team_. They've lost the Calder winner and all-star MVP for perhaps the season. Our top line center for nearly half of the games played and still have not missed a beat.

Sucks for you that you feel you're being victimized by your surroundings (read: playing in the west). Pardon me for saying so, but I believe that sounds like an excuse. Minnesota is no more talented than you are, but they are able to execute a system that wins against Western conference teams. I believe the same is applying in the Thrashers case. We are executing a system that works against the eastern teams. Many fans will remark about how fast our team is...i believe much like Lemaire slows down the west with his trap, Hartley victimizes the east with our speed. Hartley has been huge asset for us to be sure.

Yes, I am surprised as a Thrasher fan to have seen this kind of success to date. However, take a peek at the Thrashers since Hartley came in last season. We ruled the Devils, beat St Louis, Colorado, Anaheim (and Nashville). I don't believe it's schedule. it's system, and execution.

Atlanta will stick around all year. While I will not say we are definitely a playoff team, I will maintain that we're going to be a threat

I said at the beginning I think Atlanta is a good team, and they are well coached but I do believe their schedule thus far is a little easier than ours. I believe we're a better team right now than our record shows, however we're almost at .500 after playing the toughest part of our schedule, things will get easier the as the season progresses, end the end the bottom line is I believe we'll fighting for a playoff spot. I believe Atlanta is also playing a little on emotion too, and good for them for it; some teams go the opposite way when tragedy strikes. All in all, I believe both teams will push for play-off spots come March.
