I understand Parise is a great player, and I'm not arguing otherwise. I just think to add 6.5+ a year to the cap will really not leave us enough room to fix bigger holes in the roster. If you then trade Kane/Sharp, you added a top 6 forward, and lost one (even IF Parise is a little better). Now we have a slight improvement in our top 6 (where we need the least work of all our holes), but are in the exact same situation we were before.
Agreed but Bowman has said he's going with offense and D is a lesser priority, so this fits the mold of what he wants.
