The Good, the Bad, and the Matt Carle

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Bill-...lumni/45/44847

Bill Meltzer reports "Earlier this week, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren reiterated his confidence that the club will be able to re-sign impending unrestricted free agent Matt Carle on July 1. It appears as if the basic framework for a deal has already been agreed upon, and it is the tagging space issue that prevents the club from re-signing Carle (or Jaromir Jagr) until the new temporary $70.3 million cap for the 2012-13 season takes effect on the first of July."

I know we all have mixed feelings about Matt Carle. For me, his frequent turnovers often make me wish that he is exiled home to Alaska hopefully to a place where they have many days of darkness.

I on the other hand Carle played all 82 games over the last two seasons with an average ice time of 22:30 over that time.

I simply can't fathom how this guy is slated to make about 5 million in free agency. Homer needs to either trade his rights or let him walk.
