They have all this talent up front yet they still want Yakupov?!
I get the whole draft the best player available and all but it hasn't done jack for them in 3 years.

Either draft Murray who let's face it is all but a guarantee at playing in the NHL in a couple years.
Or trade the 1st overall and get a defenseman plus a top six pick and use that to draft one of Trouba or Dumba.
If I was an Edmonton fan (and thank God I'm not, being that bad that long would be depressing) I would hope the Oilers shop their 1st overall to the bottom 7 teams in this years draft and ask for their pick (picks 2 to 7 OA) + a roster defenseman or their best defensive prospect.
That way in one off season I address the gaping hole at defense and with probably a lottery pick next year anyways, you go after a McKinnon or Barkov who let's face it are much better prospects then this years draftees.

If you were an Edmonton fan and they didn't draft Yakupov, you'd be pissed. Murray's upside isn't as good as Yakupov's upside. And the bolded isn't completely true. MacKinnon and Barkov are not significantly better than Yak/Gally/Grigs.
