I know where you're coming from but I think both of those guys are slightly above average skaters in AAA, and size is something you certainly can't teach. Footwork is. For example look at Johnston last year or even Felix Jarry from Cape. Both guys were actually worse skaters than Simpson or McCabe in midget, and I thought both guys made an impact in the Q this year. Heck, I would even say Johnston has earned himself an NHL tryout or camp invite if he doesn't get drafted
