Sometimes I don't think people realize how big and spread out Canada is.

Canada is a weird place. 2nd largest country on the planet with a very small population (231st in terms of population density). Yet it is one of the wealthiest countries on the planet.

That said, I second the Vancouver-Montreal tour as recommended above. It gives you a couple different views of the country. Its important to remember that Vancouver to Montreal takes something like 60 hours to drive non-stop. In many respects you are in the same country, but different nations when you visit different cities and provinces. If you can get out of the big urban centres and experience some of the smaller towns, all the better (take a ferry trip from Van to Victoria, or hop a bus to check out Quebec City from Montreal)
