You are stating the obvious? Let me state something even more obvious:

He's a very late second round pick. Most of them never play in the NHL.

Through 1990 to 1999, odds of a second round pick turning into a regular NHLer have been about 25%. Never saw the stats for 2000-2009 but it can't have improved much.

So let's see how he pans out. If he makes the team, booyah! Even more brownie points to Timmins. If he doesn't... so what? Do you really expect EVERY late 2nd round pick to pan out?
