Let me tell you something about our second line.
It gives defenses such a different look from lines 1,3, and 4 that I truly believe it lends a lot of value, simply by having defenses have to shift their game plan in order to be successful against it.
Yeah, our second line can "disappear" on occasion, but I think that may have been more due to Richards being obviously playing injured in rounds 3 and 4 than anything else. He clearly made an impact in both rounds 1 and 2 with his style of play.
I can't wait until both Richards and Carter are healthy for the start of next season. This team is now dynamic offensively and we won't be having to worry about 1-0 games anymore.
The only concern for me next season is the Stanley Cup hangover, and from what I have observed over the past few days, "hangover" is going to represent both the long, long previous season and the Kings' drinking habits.
