We could be ok with just Jokinen signed and some cost effective 4th line play like Bernier. I also think that since we can't round out a perfect team it's better to start with a semi scoring 3rd line so Johansson can practice center some more. If he develops as a center that would be a serious boost to us. Put him with Chimera for the speed multiplier and slot Beagle in there to cover for defense/faceoffs/strength.
Also I'd think perhaps trying to get Orlov to play as a LD (which shouldn't be that hard since he shoots left so defensively he should be fine) and put him with Carlson.
Ovechkin Backstrom Ward
Laich Jokinen Brouwer
Chimera Johansson Beagle
Hendricks Perreault Bernier
Should be good enough to get us to the deadline at least if the players rebound. Though Semin makes it a lot better.
Get them to the deadline as what dead last? McPhee should be run out of town on a rail if he iced that team next season unless Leonsis cuts his budget by say $12+ mil. That team has about $14 mil in cap space not including Poti's $2.875.
