True that deal doesn't really require the Leafs at all.

Theodore has value to the Canucks as a veteran backup on a decent cap hit... always some risk going with a young starter, and this would mitigate it.

Lets leave Toronto out in the cold in this deal... Macarthur is a worse asset than sending Hansen or Higgins to Florida because he is paid three times as much and only brings the same level of play to the table.

Florida needs defence more than forwards anyways... they have a lot of young potential star forwards getting ready to make the NHL in the next year or two.

They can have any of Tanev; Ballard; Alberts; Gragnani

Raymond (short term filler offence while prospects develop)
Tanev or Gragnani or Ballard
Alberts

To Vancouver:
Theodore
Bjugstad
