khubodin was given a one way deal for this season when he signed last year and writing was already on the wall that boston planned to move thomas and go with rask at that time.

i suppose that if thomas had completely stood on his head and rask had stunk up the joint then things maybe would have turned out different, but chiarelli is proving he works with a plan in mind and this seems pretty obvious now that it was the plan all along.

rask has had all the buzz about him for years that he is a legit quality talent that will be a better then average starting goalie with a chance at greatness so im ready to put him to the test. his tryout 3 years ago when thomas was hurt was borderline spectacular. the last 2 years have been a bit more shakey but thats probably due to his not being well-suited for a backup role. he has paid his dues now and deserves a chance to start.

and khubodin is in the same situation reguarding paying his dues. he did have a chance to go back to khl but boston ponied up the one way deal to convince him to stay and he stayed and i that's that really. the backup job is his to win/lose now and the team wont make a move to get anyone else unless he fails.
