Keep him or commit suicide by irate fan base. Calgary is a more competitive team then their record shows. They just can't find a goaltender with a pulse who can stop anything.
do the habs hang on to veterans or peddle them for picks? Do you keep Saku when his best days are probably behind him due to injury? Plus we haven`t gone anywhere with him.
The Saku comment is ridiculous. Detroit went nowhere for like the first 10 years Yzerman was there. Guess it's a good thing they didn't trade him huh? As for the vets, they are gone for picks, future considerations or prospects. Most of the available vets the Habs have except Rivet and Brisebois are FAs after this season, and either fill specialist roles on a contending team or provide depth. They do have value, just not to us.
Does Ottawa pull a major deal to shake things up?

many teams like Dallas , Chicago, and Washington aren`t playing well
do they make drastic changes?
Dallas and Ottawa are prime examples of a couple of teams sleepwalking until the playoffs. They will right themselves pretty damn fast when games start to mean something. Both squads have too much talent for this to continue for too long.

The Caps are going to start moving soon. But until the Jagr thing is done they don't have a direction, the Jagr deal will either be so big that nothing else happens or it triggers some additional deals. Remember they already dumped Konowalchuk.

Chicago is a mess. A big one. Sutter wins a power stuggle and the players all hate him. Thibault and Daze are hurt. Wirtz refuses to spend money and Pulford has his hands tied. Maybe a minor move here and there but nothing major.
