That is BS.

A Stanley Cup ring is great and all, but most guys are rightfully going to take an extra few million in their retirement nest eggs.

Maybe, maybe not. Syd seems to think Stoll was a lock for 4+. I have a hard time believing that...

1) Anyone would give him that much after how bad a season he had. People are looking at what the cap is and forgetting we are headed for a lockout and an overhaul of the salary structure.

2) If Stoll was going to get 4 exactly, he gave up almost $2 million over the 3 years of the contract. That is more than a hometown discount. I have a hard time believing he would do that, the backfire would be huge from his union. I think people on this board are overvaluing his worth, maybe he gets 3.5 or 3.6, but not 4+, not a chance.
