GDT: Sabres @ Predators (11-29-03)

Buffalo (11-10-2-1) at Nashville (11-10-1-0)

Off to the best start in franchise history, the Nashville Predators go for their fourth straight win as they take on the Buffalo Sabres at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

The Predators, who will enter December at least .500 for the first time, have won seven of their last nine and have 24 points in 22 games. Last season, Nashville won just three of its first 22 games

``We've found a way to get some road wins and our special teams have been a lot better,'' Greg Johnson said. ``Now we're enjoying our success and feeding off of it.''

On Friday, Johnson and Dave Legwand scored first-period goals, and Tomas Vokoun made 32 saves to lead the Predators to a 2-1 win over the Northeast Division-leading Boston Bruins.

``For us it's a building block,'' Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. ``We do two things really well -- we have good team speed and we work our butts off most nights.''

Boston outshot Nashville 27-18 in the final two periods, but failed to convert on four power-play chances after the first.

``We were able to withstand their big storms, and in the end we were able to hang on,'' Trotz said.

Buffalo, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back wins, including a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday.

Daniel Briere scored two goals in the third period as the Sabres rallied from two down in the final period to win.

``It's a great feeling right now,'' Briere said. ``I can't describe it. Earlier in the season, once we were down one or two goals we didn't stick with the system. This time we were patient and waited for our chances.''
